Regulation
The “Agnesi” International Piano Competition is an annual piano competition dedicated to the memory of composer and pianist Maria Teresa Agnesi, a symbolic figure in both the Brianza and international music scenes. The aim of the competition is to promote young talent on the international music stage, offering young pianists of any nationality the opportunity to compete at a high level, access scholarships, and embark on professional growth paths.
The competition will take place from November 20 to 23, 2025, at the prestigious Villa Borromeo d’Adda in Arcore, in the province of Monza and Brianza.
The competition is open to young pianists of any nationality.
It is divided into four categories, each designated for a specific age group. The categories are as follows:
Registration in a higher age category than one’s own is allowed at the candidate’s discretion.
Registrations are open until November 5, 2025.
To register, participants must fill out the registration form available on the official competition website and send it via email to: pianoforte@agnesiinternationalcompetition.it along with the following documents:
Applications submitted after the deadline may be exceptionally considered at the sole discretion of the Artistic Director.
By registering, candidates fully accept the regulation in its entirety, including any future modifications at the discretion of the Artistic Direction.

Payment reference: “Agnesi International Music Competition” followed by the participant’s full name and category (e.g., Category A – 9-11 years).
The audition order will be determined at the end of the registration period.
The day and time for each participant will be communicated by email within 5 days after the registration deadline.
Candidates must present a valid ID and provide a copy of the pieces to be performed.
Performance from memory is not mandatory.
All auditions will be public.
Results will be announced verbally by the Artistic Director at the end of each category and will be posted on-site immediately after the proclamation.
At the end of the competition, the complete list of winners will also be published on the event’s official website.
Each participant must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled performance time, as indicated in the email.
Changes to the assigned time will not be allowed without a justified request, which must be submitted to the Artistic Direction at least two weeks before the competition begins.
Participants who are more than 10 minutes late may be excluded from the audition without the possibility to perform.
If a participant does not show up, rescheduling is not possible.
Participants may compete in multiple categories.
It is allowed to register in both the Solo and Four Hands sections, and also in the Piano Interpretation Competition, even if already enrolled in the Piano Performance Competition.
In such cases, it is necessary to:
Jury members cannot have family or affinity relationships with any participant.
In the case of public educational relationships, the jury member must declare it and abstain from voting for the concerned participant.
The Jury is composed of concert artists and Masters of recognized international prestige. Their decisions are final and non-negotiable.
The jury will consist of internationally renowned professionals.
The jury’s decision is final and irrevocable and will be expressed out of 100.
Participants will be evaluated based on: technical execution, musical interpretation, expressiveness, and artistic personality.
The jury reserves the right to interrupt the performance if the total duration exceeds the allowed time for the category.
Participants will be scored as follows:
Scores are expressed out of 100, and the jury’s final decision is unquestionable.
All non-awarded participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Special Prizes:
Scholarships will be awarded at the sole discretion of the jury and announced during the awards ceremony.
Attendance at the awards ceremony is mandatory for all prize winners. If a winner is unable to attend, the prize will not be awarded.
In the event of a tie, cash prizes will be divided among winners.
The winning teacher will also receive an elegant handcrafted design piece by HandMade, as a symbol of gratitude for their contribution to participants’ success.
The competition is committed to inclusiveness and sustainability, ensuring that registration and participation processes are open to all, without discrimination. The initiative promotes gender equality, recognizing talent in both sexes.
The organization declines all responsibility for any accidents or damages that may occur during the event.
The official website will provide a list of affiliated hotels and restaurants near the venue, offering discounted rates for participants.
Accommodation and meal bookings must be made independently by the competitors.
All travel, accommodation, and meal costs are entirely the responsibility of the participants.
The data provided by participants will be processed exclusively for purposes related to the organization and promotion of the competition. The Data Controller is New Star APS, the organizing body of the competition. Data will be processed lawfully, fairly, and securely.
By registering, the candidate consents to the processing of their personal data.
By participating in the competition, candidates authorize the Organization to use their image, voice, and any audio/video recordings taken during the event free of charge, for purposes related to the *Maria Teresa Agnesi International Competition*, including promotional, documentary, archival, and communication use on official channels.
The organization reserves the right to modify or supplement the regulation if necessary, promptly communicating changes through official channels.

For any dispute regarding the interpretation or application of this regulation, the Court of Milan shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Un’attenzione speciale sarà dedicata alla sezione dei più piccoli, valutata da una giuria specifica composta da insegnanti specializzati nella didattica pianistica infantile, con anni di esperienza nell’accompagnare i primi passi musicali dei giovani pianisti.
Un ambiente stimolante e altamente formativo, dove ogni partecipante potrà sentirsi ascoltato, accolto e incoraggiato a dare il meglio di sé.
